More people around the world are choosing to stay single, and CBC’s The National recently explored why.
In this reaction video, I break down the growing trend of singlehood, why more women are choosing to remain single, why some men feel like the bar for dating has become unreachable, and what happens when men and women increasingly want different things from relationships. But this isn’t about blaming women or men. It’s about asking a bigger question: What happens to relationships, marriage, family, and society when more people decide they’re better off alone? We’ll look at independence, dating expectations, masculinity, the growing gap between men and women, declining fertility, and why becoming a better man may be a more productive response than simply complaining about the dating world. Because the goal shouldn’t be convincing men that they need women, or women that they need men. The goal is becoming the kind of people who can build something meaningful together.
