God Wants You to Have Your Dream Job (But Nobody Told You This)

What if the dream you keep trying to be “realistic” about is actually something God put inside you for a reason? A lot of men do everything they’re supposed to do.

Get the stable job. Pay the mortgage. Build a responsible life. But somewhere along the way, the thing they actually cared about gets pushed onto a shelf until “someday.” And someday never comes. In this video, I talk about why playing it safe isn’t always the same thing as being wise, what passion really means, and why the desires that keep coming back may deserve more attention than we give them. I share some of my own story, from discovering filmmaking in high school to rediscovering that part of myself years later while on paternity leave, building The Better Story and Equine Vet Life. I also look at what Scripture says about desire, calling, bold prayer, and trusting God with a future that might look very different from the safe path you originally planned. Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” Maybe the question isn’t simply, “Will God give me what I want?” Maybe it’s: “What if God is shaping what I want in the first place?” This isn’t permission to quit your job tomorrow or abandon your responsibilities. Calling still requires patience, wisdom, discipline, and preparation. But there’s a big difference between looking before you leap and spending your entire life standing at the edge. So whatever that thing is for you, the business, the creative project, the career change, the calling you’ve quietly buried, bring it to God. Pray boldly. God is not intimidated by your dreams. If this hit somewhere real for you, tell me in the comments: what’s the thing you’ve been putting off?
